Jeff Green will continue another year in Denver

Jeff Greenveteran power forward for the Denver Nuggets, has decided to exercise his player option for the 2022-2023 season and stay with Nikola Jokic’s team in exchange for $4.5 million. The 36-year-old had until Monday to decide whether to take his contract option or enter free agency this summer.

after averaging 10.3 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 75 games with the Colorado franchise last year, 63 of them as starters, the player has chosen to remain in Denver, his eleventh team in 14 professional NBA. The Nuggets come from transferring JaMychal Green to the Oklahoma City Thunder, a decision that reinforces the role of the veteran player within the team, although it is likely that he will start from the bench with the recovery of the young man Michael Porter Jr.

The Nuggets want to give their current group one last chance in the face of the assault on the ring, and for this they trust that health respects their backbone: Jokic, Murray, Gordon and Porter Jr.
